Church Family Christmas Cards

Hello!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Please be sure to visit the Twisted Tuesday Challenge blog. Our current challenge is to make a tag or project with a tag on it. The Twist ~ Use something that makes you smile. Whether it is a favorite stamp, a favorite embellishment, sentiment, etc.

Click the Twisted badge at the top, right corner of my blog to go directly to the Twisted Tuesday blog.

***************************

I wanted to share the Christmas cards I made for our Church family. I try each year to hand make all the cards we give the families in our church. They are so supportive of us and love us so much. We can't afford to get each one of them something of monetary value but I strive each year to let them know we love them and appreciate them.

Here's the "mass produced" cards I made for them...

...with a hand written sentiment inside each one, I believe they will know just how much we love them.

The stamped doilies are from the SU! set, Delicate Doilies.
The sentiment is from the CTMH set, Card Chatter - Christmas Holidays.

Have a great day!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Crafty Gals and Dueling Darlings Come Together!

Well, on my blog the two groups come together today anyway.
I'm having to post 2 different challenges together today. I'm so behind. Today is the day to post our Dueling Darlings challenge. 10 days ago was the day to post our Crafty Gals challenge. I'm so bad. I'm sorry!

First off let me show you what I made with the kit Michelle sent the Dueling Darling Dazzler team.

Michelle! I love this image. The papers are so fun. Thank you so much for sending a great kit.
I colored my image with watercolor pencils and copics.

I can't wait to see all the other Darlings creations! Their blogs are listed in my left sidebar.

**********************

Secondly, I'd like to apologize specifically to the Crafty Gals. I'm so sorry my post is late.
Here's what I made:

This month's challenge was to CASE a fellow Crafty Gal. We had to go back to their blogs to the month of March. I chose to CASE Diane. You can find the card I CASED on her blog HERE.

I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Until next time...

This Mystery is a Little Chilly

Hi everyone!
It's time again to post our creations for the Mystery Swap Group over on SCS. I am part of a great group of ladies that love to share.

Our latest image, sent to us by the Mysterious Terry is a chilly one. :)
Here's what I did with it:

Ain't he the cutest?!
Thanks Terry I loved coloring this image.
I decided he needed a shadow....giggle
I picked some snowflake Recollections paper to go along with this chilly cutie. Also, you know me, I'm a simple girl, so this card was put together very easily. I can't wait to see what my other Mysterious Sisters do with this!

Until next time...

Dueling Darlings ~ Plains, Trains and Automobiles

Yes! It's that time again!!!! It's Dueling time. Bring it on!

Little Ms. Debbie is the Dazzler's hostess this month and I adore the kits she sent!
Yes! I said "kits"! She sent two. It was hard to choose but this is what I created...

I embossed the the rust card stock she sent with my SU! square lattice folder. Then, distressed and inked it.
The K & Company paper is adorable! I distressed, inked and sanded that.
The little Kraftin Kimmie airplane stamped image was colored with copics then cut out and mounted atop a Natural white SU! piece of punched card stock. That's what my card base is also. I followed that with a matching piece at the bottom for my sentiment (using SU! Petite Pairs).
My favorite part of this card is my button "treatment". :) I used a MFT hot fudge button, cut a piece of the green ribbon and linen thread Debbie sent and made, what I think is a cute accent.

Thank you Debbie!

Debbie and Carol (the hostess for the Divas, our dueling team) asked us to share a memory of getting to our favorite holiday. An adventure you might say.

Well, the one that popped into my mind immediately when I saw this was a few years ago when North Alabama experienced a large amount of snow on Christmas Eve and Day. There were lots of roads closed and iced over. In my mind, we were going to have a relaxed Christmas at home and visit family at a later date. My husband however had other plans. He said "I've never not been at my Mom's at Christmas and this snow and ice is not going to keep me from doing so this year!" He was on a mission! So, we bundled the kiddos up, loaded them and the presents in the car and headed out. A trip that usually takes us 50 minutes, took us over 2 hours! We have to cross a very long, 4 lane bridge on the way that is quite elevated. It was super scary to say the least. Of course we made it and had a wonderful time with family, but I will never forget the "adventure" we had to take to do so.

Until next time...

Twisted Tuesdays and Manly Tools!

Hello!
Are you a Twisted Tuesday fan? We hope so!
This week, Twisted Tuesdays wants to see your masculine cards. The Twist is you need to use "tools". This can be a stamped image or you can use your Big Shot, Cuttlebug, Cricut, paper punches....hey that's the tools we use in crafting isn't it?! hahahaha! Come show us what you created!

Here's my masculine card. For the Twist, I used my Big Shot, a Spellbinders die and a paper punch:

I hope this is masculine enough. It's going to my Dad for his birthday :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thankful for my Fall Blessings

Hi everyone. I hope your week is starting out joyfully!

Today is the 5th so that means I have a challenge creation to post. The Crafty Gals blog group on SCS has a monthly challenge. This month's hostess is Jackie. She wanted us to make a creation with fall blessings and thankfulness in mind.

I'm thankful for my parents. They are both still with me. I thank God every day for that. They would do anything in the world for me. I'm very blessed. :)
This is their Thanksgiving card from me this year.

I made this card with a kit that was sent to me from a friend in my FB group. I still have enough supplies to make at least 3 more cards! :) Thanks Cindy R.!

I can't wait to see what my Crafty Gal Sisters have come up with for this month's challenge. Their blogs are listed in my right sidebar. Go check them out!

Until next time...

Polka Dot Owl

Hiya!

I was cleaning up the pictures on my computer and come across this one. I have searched my blog and can't find where I shared this with you. So, well it has to be done right?! :)

I made this bookmark a few months ago for sweet Ms. Jeanette. We are in a FB group together and our first challenge was to create a bookmark for one of our "sisters". I know that Jeanette loves patterned paper and that she likes owls. So, I think I personalized this for her pretty well. :)

I added some pearl tipped straight pins behind the image. I cut all the circles with my Spellbinder dies. I added a little sparkle to the image with stickles.
The ribbon is from Bo Bunny. I have a HUGE roll of this polka dot ribbon and have had it for a long time. It finds it's way into quite a few of my projects. I love brown and I love polka dots!
Here's the bookmark "serving it's purpose". I really like how it turned out.

Thanks for visiting today.

Until next time...

Awwww, Look at that Beach Pic!

Hi everyone!

I'm back with another scrapbook page.
Here's our little sweetie at the beach, just chillin' :)

I love these black and white pics we got at the beach several years ago. We went to Disney World and then spent a day at a nearby beach. We had a great time.

Every piece used on this page is from my scrap bin, except for the background of SU! Early Espresso of course.

I used this sketch from a brand new blog called Sketch with Color:

It's for their Design Team Call!
Go over and check them out. I can't wait to see their first challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Doe a Deer.....

I've got one cute little niece!

Lookie, lookie....

Yes this is the niece that is almost 4 years old!!! Yikes, I'm behind on my Scrapping.
I am making an 8x8 album of her birth up to 1 year. This is her first Christmas, she was a little over 2 weeks old. That outfit was adorable and you cannot imagine how many pictures I got of her in it! It's shameful!!! :)

Oh well!

The background paper is from SU! and the scalloped border is cut with my Cricut from the Art Philosophy cart.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Twisted Tuesdays Wants to See...

...anything but a card!

oh yeah, with orange somewhere on your project too :)

Come join us! We want to see what you've been working on.
Here's what I've been doing...

 YEP! TAGS! :)

Okay, so the first tag pictured has orange in it. The rest are Christmas tags :)

I made these for a swap I am in. I hope Yolanda likes them! We were to create 10 large tags to send to one member in the group.
I used my Spellbinders Labels Fourteen for the top and last pictured tags. I cut the middle two with my Cricut.

Don't forget to show us what you're making over at the Twisted Tuesday Challenge blog

Until next time...

Oh Goofy Santa, I Want to be a Maven!

Hi all! Yes, this is my second post of the day.

Click here to see my previous post:

I decided to try my hand at another page using a sketch from the Sketches in Thyme challenge blog. This one happens to be for their Design Team Call they have going on right now. It ends tomorrow so I'm coming in under the wire.....Whew! a close one :)

Here's what I created:

using this sketch:
I turned mine "mirror image" and thought our goofy son would be a great subject! *giggle*
Aaron is a hoot! He is a big ole ham for the camera and loves making faces.

Here's the link to the Design Team Call:
I have been having a ball with Sketches in Thyme's layouts. There is beautiful inspiration on their site. Thanks for all your hard work Mavens :)

Scrapping Feels Good!

Hi y'all!

I've been busy scrapping away (I know, it's been a while since I've posted any pages). Scrapbooking is my first love. I love making cards too but am so glad I haven't lost my scrapping "mojo". :)

I found a great scrapbooking sketch blog, Sketches in Thyme! I love their challenges. So, here I go, full blast, into scrapping again by entering this page there! Oh me!!!

Here's the link to the sketch:

For this page, I used large circles to make up the one bigger circle on the sketch. I also went a little crazy with some white baker's twine :) I love how that turned out!
I'm also a little nuts over pearls right now. They are my "go to" embellishment......currently. I used a stamp for the sprayed look.

For anyone interested the pics are of my husband holding one of our nieces. The top pick is our daughter (left) with a niece (her cousin).

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Until next time...

Dueling Darlings Challenge, Leader Appreciation!

Hello all!

It's Dueling time again. This month I'm the hostess for both the Dazzlers and the Divas! Wow! How about that? :) I decided to do something a little different for our Darlings. I knew that trying to get a kit together for each member would be a huge task, you know, getting all the same embellishments and papers and so on. Not to mention the postage. Yikes!
So, I gave each team a challenge.
**The Divas challenge was to create a card with an animal somewhere on it and buttons.
**The Dazzlers challenge was to create a card with a tree somewhere on it and patterned paper.

Our team leaders Kelly and Jeanette...(hi girls ;)....had no idea I had another little something up my sleeve. hahahaha
You see, we love these two ladies. They keep up "in line" and are great with keeping up with schedules and deadlines. So, I wanted to make this month's challenge in honor of them as a "thank you".
Kelly loves animals and as you can see on her blog, on many of her gorgeous creations, loves buttons as an embellishment.
Jeanette is "the Forest Ranger" on SCS and loves Nature and displaying all her Christmas trees (you should see the pictures!!!) during the Holiday season and if you've seen any of the many fun creations on her blog, you know that she loves using patterned paper.

Well, I'm a Dazzler so I created with Jeanette in mind...

I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist line.
The large flower image is from SU and the sentiment and butterfly are MFT.

Jeanette, I hope you like it! This card will be flying out to you soon girl! ;)
Thanks for all you do!

I can't wait to see what all the Darlings made in tribute to our leaders.
Their blogs can be found in my left sidebar.

Until next time...

Crafty Gals are Thinking Outside the Box....

Hi bloggers!
I hope you have had a wonderfully, blessed week.

Today is the 5th so that means the Crafty Gals are creating!
Our blog group (on SCS) posts creations every month with a different hostess each month. This month it's Athina's turn. She challenged us to make a creation "outside the box", so no square or rectangles cards or even scrap pages. Along with this challenge she wanted us to try a new technique. Now, I must say....I think I've tried them all, techniques that is, but there is one that I don't think I have used in a long, long time so I chose to do the frame/cut out/punched negative space technique. I'm not sure of it's name but I like the look of something cut out of the front of your card and having something to go along with it on the inside.

Here's what I made...

I went crazy with my Cricut! I love my new Art Philosophy cartridge!!!! :)
The back piece is cut with that cartridge in Melon Mambo c/s.
I love, love the card features on this cartridge. I used one of the many card designs on with the chocolate chip piece of c/s. It even cuts out the flowers on the front for you! They coordinate with the cut out on the back. I placed another piece of Melon Mambo c/s inside the card then placed pearls in the middles of the flowers :)
Here's a close up of the stamping I did. I used a SU! stamp set called Lacy & Lovely for the flowers and Family Phrases for the sentiment. I popped the sentiment punched piece up so I could nestle some buttons around it. The buttons are from an order I just got in from MFT. I love their buttons so much! I finally had a chance to use some MS baker's twine I got....the pink shade went well.

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
Be sure and check out the other Crafty Gals to see how they made it "outside the box" :)
Their blogs are listed over there ------------------>

Until next time...

Food for the Forest....(you build an appetite there you know) :)

Hi everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderfully crafty day.

I wanted to show you all what I made for a swap I'm in on SCS.
It is the "Food in the Forest Swap" hosted by Forest Ranger (Jeanette). Hi J! :)

Now, I have to say this is one of my most favorite Fores swaps that Jeanette has done.....it has nothing to do with the fact that she chose my theme idea for this one! *giggle* Okay, it has a little to do with that....*wink*
So, I took on quite a few spots in this swap.
Look at all I did.....

I took 1 standard card spot. I used a limb stamp I bought from JoAnn's.
The design card stock is from a DCWV stack. I added some clear glaze to the middle of each flower after I colored the image. I punched some holes on either side of one of the branches and attached a birdcage charm with some hemp twine.
I added a white panel inside the card and off stamped the image to the edge of that (uncolored).
I put a note in each card.....I think the branch might throw one off as to how this goes along with food in the forest....so my note said "If you are every lost in the Forest, plants and tree blooms are your best friend in time of hunger". LOL I hope I pulled that off. hahahahaha

Next....

Yes, I took 4 spots in her recipe "section" of her swap. I am planning on making a Forest Cookbook when I get my returns. :) I will get 12 different recipe cards back. I think that will make for a cute little cookbook!
For my recipes, I used ones that you could make the day before you leave for your picnic or camping trip. You can store all these in air tight containers and munch on them the whole time you are "communing with Nature"! *giggle*

And lastly...

I took 3 spots in her Candy section of her swap. I love making card and page accents. That is like my "first love" in crafting I guess. I love getting out pictures and thinking about making a page and then going to my Cricut and making some Candy to go on the pages. Or, making some type of scene or accent piece for a card, then attaching it to the base. The card base is just an afterthought to me usually. I love all the stuff I'm gonna put on it. :)
I cut the Acorn (also on one of my recipe cards just a little smaller) and the trees from the new (to me) Art Philosophy Cricut Cart. I love that thing!
The leaves are stamped and paper punched.
I packages all in cello bags with a little glue dot on the backs. I didn't do the little decorative tops for the bags, that I've seen so many ladies do, I just didn't want anyone to go through the agony I do when I want to use the Candy I get back and I have to mess up that pretty topper. I cringe every time I do it.

Well, this is what I did for the latest Forest Swap. I'm very happy with how everything came out.
I can't wait to see what I get back!

Until next time...
Blessings...

This Mystery Smelled Like Bacon!

It's time once again to reveal the Mystery image that was sent to us for this round of Mystery swapping.

I thought it was the cutest thing ever....but so made me want some bacon.... ***giggle***

Here' what I did with the image:

So I went a little crazy with the faux stitching. :)
I colored the image with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I made stitches on the piggy's quilt with my brown SU! marker. Then I inked the edges with some gray ink and added some gray stitching too. The DCWV paper I used behind the image already had stitching on it. SCORE! Then I added a strip of white card stock behind that and added more stitching. And.....as if that wasn't enough, I added more stitches to the edges of the kraft card base with a white gel pen. Whew! That's a lot of stitching!!! (oh yeah, there is a white strip inside the card that also has stitching added to it!)
For my embellishments, I just added some espresso ribbon and a pearl flower.

How about you? Are you feeling under the weather? Would this card get you close to "cured"? :) I can't wait to see what the other Mysterious ladies did with this image!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Come Fly By Twisted Tuesdays!

Hi! Yes, you are not sick or going crazy....
this is my 2nd blog post in as many days! LOL :) hahahahahaha

We are "Flying By to Say Hi!" at Twisted Tuesdays this week.
Come check us out.
The Twist is you must use 3 different embellishments on your "flying" creation.

Here's what I made:

This was my first time using this Spellbinders die set. I love it! I love it even more because I got it at a bargain price :)
The sentiments are from CTMH.
The kite stamp is from the Michael's dollar bin.

My 3 different embellishments are 6mm Ivory pearls, a Pink resin rose and a Black Tulle bow.

We hope to see you at Twisted Tuesdays Challenge blog this week!

Also, enter our Design Team Call. You have 1 more week. :)

Until next time...

Collection of Leftover Dueling Darling Goodies!

I'm late!
I was supposed to post this Saturday...but I've been feeling really blah lately. Forgive my tardiness Darlings! :)

This month the Dueling Darlings were to get all their leftover kit ingredients from the year and make a smorgasbord creation! Well, I had to go with another Sunburst to get all those lovely papers in....

I think I was able to get things from 3 or 4 different kits on this card.
Thanks Debbie for the great theme idea! You rock! ;)

Check out what the other Darlings achieved! Their blogs can be found in my
left sidebar.

Until next time...

We Will NEVER Forget

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families of the 9/11/01 tragedy. Sadly, the people that died that day are not the only victims of this horrific event. Some of the men and women that risked their lives helping, are now struggling with health issues because of things they were exposed to that day. This breaks my heart. I become angry when I think of the cowards that tried to destroy us on 9/11/01 but I WILL NOT let the anger and bitterness crowd my mind. If we let this happen, the scum that planned and carried out this "mission" win. THAT CANNOT HAPPEN.

I love this country.
God Bless America!

Twisted Tuesdays Challenge blog is remembering the people affected by 9/11.

The Gals Are Getting Punchy!

Hi everyone!
I hope you're having a fantastic week.

Today's the 5th! I'm so excited to see what's in store for the Crafty Gals September Challenge!

Jeanette is our hostess this month. She challenged us to use a paper punch somewhere on our creation. She also said a bonus would be if we made our punched pieces into a piece of punch art...you know, make it something that it's not. :)

Well, I used my scalloped oval punch to make a.....well.......a fan, I guess?! hahahaha
But, knowing Jeanette like I do, I added a little something. The scalloped oval pieces are cut from an old recipe box divider! I know Jeanette loves seeing recycled items on projects.
So, here it is....

I have attempted...for the first time ever....to use the SunBurst (starburst) technique. I love it!
I used the Be Mine Echo Park papers for the technique. I inked the edges with Basic Grey Ink.

Oh look! No stamping! *GASP*

I also used my new (new to me anyway) Art Philosophy Cricut Cart for the rolled flower and doily heart.
Here's a close up of what I did with the Art Philosophy cart. I just got it last week.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
Please be sure and check out all the other Crafty Gals and see what they created for Jeanette's challenge. Their blogs are listed over there ---------------------->

Oh before I go, be sure and check out the Design Team Call over at Twisted Tuesday Challenges and also our new challenge this week.

Are You a Butterfly Lover?

If not....then look away.....you're about to see lots of butterfly "eye candy"! *giggle*

I made these cards and "Candy" (accents) for a SplitCoast Swap I am in.
My friend Linda is the host of this great swap. I hope she likes my creations :)

Here are my black and white cards. I used a Swirl Cuttlebug folder on the black card stock, added some white satin flower trim and some 10mm silver brads. I love black and white cards and really like how mine turned out. Oh, and the sentiment.....well, I thought since it was black and white that it could be used for a wedding/anniversary card. What do you think?
And here is the butterfly "candy" I created. Instead of sending 6 to 8 of the same pieces in a bag (We had to create 6 bags of 6 or more butterflies), I gave a variety! The larger butterflies and light blue one are cut with the Indie Art Cricut Cart. The 3 smaller ones are punched with the SU! butterfly punch. Then I sent 2 stamped images along. I like variety! :)

Now, I can't wait to see what I get back! Yea!

Until next time...

Are You Game?

It's the 15th....it's Dueling time!

This month Jeanette and Kelly wanted to see if we, Darlings, were "game"....since it's National Scrabble Week (who knew?!)

Jeanette sent a great kit. I've never seen the image she sent. It's by Art Impressions...

Also, they threw in a little extra challenge. They wanted us to try something new with our kit....something we've never done before. Well, believe it or not, I've never made a card fold like this before....

I know right, what took me so long?! I love this fold. I made the card 6x6 in size. I LOVE the embossed card stock Jeanette sent! I've gotta get those Tim Holtz folders!!!! :)
There was also a scrabble tile, ribbon, prima flower and brads in the kit (and other lovely Tessa Collins Freestyle Collection papers too) that I just couldn't fit in. Once I started with the star theme...I couldn't stop. :)

Thanks Jeanette for this kit! I loved the extra challenge too. I can't wait to make more of these style cards!
Be sure and check out the other Darlings creations for this Duel. Their blogs are listed in my left sidebar.

Until next time...

How is you day going?
I hope you are well. Thank you for stopping by!

This week's Twisted Tuesday Challenge asks the question....Are You Blue?
Find the challenge here:

The Twist is we want you to try and use only 1 other color besides blue in your creation.
I think this trinket box I made for a special friend goes along.....my other color is brown/tan....

This started out as a plain wooden box from Hobby Lobby.
I got out the Modge Podge and went to work "pasting" on different papers.
I love the glossy coat the Modge Podge added.
Then, of course, I had to add some bling.....well, a lot of bling and pearls!....oh, oh, oh, and flowers!
Here's a close up of the flowers. I painted every so lightly the leaves to go along with the other colors of the box. The bright green just stood out too much. The flower/medallion in the background with the pearl middle is a piece cut from patterned paper.
So, for my first altered box.....I think I did alright and I am HOOKED! I gotta get another and make it for myself! :)

(the inside and bottom I painted dark brown and added some goodies for Lisa inside. :)

Until next time...
Blessings...
